Dear Parents and Students of SLI,

We’re Maya and Sonya, and we’d like to invite you to join our tasty fundraiser, Treats for Peace, happening on our 11th birthday—October 29! We’ve organized this fundraiser to help children affected by war, with all proceeds going to UNICEF, an organization that provides essential support to kids in war-torn countries.

Here’s how you can participate and what we’re asking:

How to Participate:

1. Donate $20 for a Treat Voucher:

• What you do: Make a $20 donation online through this page
• What your child gets: A voucher for 4 treats from the sale, plus a bonus slice of birthday cake from us as a thank-you!
• How it works: After you donate, enter your child’s name so they’ll get their voucher on October 29 (click here to see how). Your child can keep part of the voucher as a reminder that they helped kids in need.

2. Bring Treats to Sell:

• What you do: Have your child bring any kind of treat to sell on October 29 (homemade or store-bought).
• What your child gets: 5 house points for contributing to the fundraiser.
• Optional: To make it fun, your treats can be Halloween-themed!
• Drop-off: Treats should be brought to the study room, and parents can use the fridge for any items that need to be kept cold. (Please make sure all treats are nut-free.)

Key Details:

• The treat sale will take place on October 29, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the gym.
• 100% of the proceeds will go to UNICEF to help children affected by war.

Why Treats for Peace?
We realized how lucky we are to have everything we need, and we wanted to help kids who don’t have the same opportunities because of war. Treats for Peace is a way for all of us to give back and bring hope to children around the world.
